Student Organizations & Extracurricular Activities

One of NMSD’s goals is to encourage participation and community awareness. To facilitate this, students are offered opportunities to participate in student organizations and extracurricular activities. We believe this helps students grow and promotes leadership, fellowship, social skills, and communication. Students involved in those organizations and activities enjoy direct and easy communication with their sponsors and peers. NMSD has a variety of organizations and activities that are ever-changing based on student interest.

Participation in student organizations takes place both during and after school and some examples are as follows:

  • Student Body Government

  • Jr. National Association of the Deaf

  • Student Council (Middle School)

  • Strong and Silent Council (Our Native American Student Organization).

We offer a variety of after-school activities geared to student interests. This includes theater productions and after-school clubs such as e-sports, robotics, and weightlifting. Various games/tournaments for games such as chess and 9-squares as well as fun hiking, swimming, snow sledding, and shopping excursions are examples of the wide variety of activities offered to students.
