Mentorship for Educational Interpreters in NM - Application Form

Workshops are developed based on the needs of a student, interpreter, school, or district. Professional development will be customized to address interpreting skills and theory specific to working with deaf and hard-of-hearing students in their educational settings. Participants engage and apply learning through hands-on activities. This service is developed and provided at the district’s request.

Short-term residencies are offered on NMSD’s main campus in Santa Fe for 2-3 days. Work alongside, observe, and receive direct mentoring from the NMSD interpreting team! Take advantage of an immersion opportunity by being exposed to various signing styles through interactions with staff and students while also gaining hands-on interpreting experience.  Housing on campus may be provided if available at the time of residency. This opportunity can be requested by the interpreter and district.
