NMSD serves students from 18 months through 22 years old and the programs are divided up into four major departments: Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle School and High School.
NMSD’s early childhood program serves students across the state and is based in four locations including Albuquerque, Farmington, Las Cruces and Santa Fe. The programs are coordinated and supervised by one principal and guided by the Reggio Emilia approach. Albuquerque also has an on-site assistant principal. Students 18 months of age through kindergarten are served in these preschools.
NMSD’s 1st through 12th grade programs serve students on the Santa Fe campus. For students that live too far to commute on a daily basis, NMSD’s comprehensive residential program supports students from Sunday through Friday.
All school programs are supported by teachers that receive ongoing instructional training and are proficient in meeting the language needs of all students. Students and their instructional services are also supported by various related/support service providers, a school psychologist, a curriculum team and an outcomes specialist.
